Associate Vice Chancellor-Academic Strategy

Ms. McIntosh provides strategic advice and coordination across the University to ensure CUNY advances its strategic goals and keeps its historic mission relevant to the 21st century context. Appointed in July, 2017, she reports to the Executive Vice Chancellor and University Provost, Vita Rabinowitz, and works closely with the CUNY Chancellor, Presidents and other senior university leadership in the planning, oversight and implementation of the Master Plan and “Connected CUNY” framework for CUNY’s future development. She helps to identify priorities, set benchmarks and time frames, and determine the financial and human resources needed to achieve the goals of enhanced student preparedness for college, significantly improved graduation rates and stronger career outcomes for students.

Ms. McIntosh served in the U.S. Department of Education from January 2014 to January, 2017, and was nominated by President Obama to serve as Assistant Secretary, Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development. Previously, Ms. McIntosh held education strategy and program leadership roles working for the Commissioner of the New York State Education Department from 2010-2013 the New York City Department of Education from 1994 to 2010. Ms. McIntosh holds a B.A. in Economics from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. She worked in marketing and general management roles in the private sector from 1984 to 2004 at companies including American Express, Verizon, Zagat Survey, and D&B.
