James (Jim) Murphy

University Dean for Enrollment Management

Jim Murphy was appointed University Dean for Enrollment Management in 2014. With more than 36 years as a college administrator, Mr. Murphy has cultivated extensive experience in all areas of enrollment management. He was named the University Associate Dean for Enrollment Management in 2008. In his current role, Mr. Murphy supports the Senior University Dean for Executive Search and Enrollment by overseeing the strategic integration of the University’s admissions, financial aid and registrar areas with University and colleges’ enrollment, retention and graduation goals.

Prior to his leadership role as a member of the University’s central administration, Mr. Murphy served as Director of Financial Aid, Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid, and Assistant Vice President for Enrollment during his 24-year tenure at Baruch College. Mr. Murphy began his higher education career as a Financial Aid Counselor at New York City Technical College. Mr. Murphy earned a bachelor’s degree at St. John’s University and holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Baruch College.
