Capital Assets and Property Management is responsible for maintaining the University’s fixed asset inventory system and performing the accounting for the University’s assets and debt related activity. The unit develops and implements Capital Assets policies and procedures, and provides training and guidance on utilizing the CUNYfirst Asset Management technology system. It also facilitates and monitors the annual physical re-inventory process across all CUNY colleges. Finally, the unit serves as the primary liaison with the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) related to recording and reporting the University’s new bond issuances, existing debt and related activity; and with the City University Construction Fund in order to record and report capital asset project expenditures.
