Learn more about enrolling in Direct Deposit via CUNYfirst

Direct Deposit eliminates the chance that your check will get lost, misdirected, or delayed during delivery, or misplaced once you receive it.

Signing up for Direct Deposit in CUNYfirst is Easy! Follow the two-step process to enroll:

  1. Entering the bank information
  2. Enrolling the bank account as your designated direct deposit account

You only need your bank account and bank routing numbers to enroll in Direct Deposit. Click here to log into CUNYfirst Self-Service, home.cunyfirst.cuny.edu.

Note: All Graduate Center and School of Journalism students interested in enrolling in Direct Deposit should contact the Bursars Office.

a) Navigate to Self-Service > Campus Finances > Manage My Accounts

b) On the My Accounts page, click Add Account to enter the required account information, then click Next

*TIP: Refer to your check or bank to verify your ABA Routing Number and account information.

Warning: A bank may have several routing numbers associated with it. Be mindful to enter the specific routing number listed on your check or provided by your bank to prevent delays in processing your refunds.

a) Once you add bank account information, make sure to click Enroll in Direct Deposit


b) Click on Proceed to Enroll in Direct Deposit, select your Account Nickname and click Next


c) On the Direct Deposit Distribution, choose your account from the dropdown menu and click Next

d) In the Enroll in Direct Deposit page, read the Agreement, click Yes to agree and SUBMIT to finish

e) You will see a message stating that you have completed your Direct Deposit enrollment:
