Blackboard Learn is CUNY’s enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) that is centrally supported and managed by the Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS), and staff and instructional leaders on the campuses.
Blackboard Learn allows students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. The degree to which Blackboard Learn is used at the University varies. The main purpose is to better support the development and delivery of web-enhanced, hybrid, and online instructional opportunities. read more
Updates and Announcements
The annual Fall Blackboard upgrade is scheduled to take place beginning on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 and is expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018 (time is subject to change). This maintenance upgrade will introduce a new attendance tool for faculty, mobile grading for faculty, and integrated cloud storage for all users, along with bug fixes for known issues. Unfortunately, the system will be unavailable during the upgrade. Fall 2018 grades are currently due on most campuses on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, but we encourage faculty to submit Fall semester grades as early as possible due to the downtime.
We also recommend that faculty download assignments and grade data from their courses should they need access to that information while the system is unavailable. Faculty members may visit the following resources for more information:
Faculty should find useful the following resources on this website: information on Blackboard development at CUNY; User Guides with information on using new and improved features; and FAQs with answers to the most commonly asked questions.
Students will also find useful information on Blackboard; and answers to their Frequently Asked Questions.
