Blackboard Learn is CUNY’s enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) that is centrally supported and managed by the Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS), and staff and instructional leaders on the campuses.
Blackboard Learn allows students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. The degree to which Blackboard Learn is used at the University varies. The main purpose is to better support the development and delivery of web-enhanced, hybrid, and online instructional opportunities. read more
Updates and Announcements
The 2018 Fall Blackboard upgrade was completed on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018. This maintenance upgrade introduced a new attendance tool for faculty, mobile grading for faculty, and integrated cloud storage for all users, along with bug fixes for known issues.
We would like to remind faculty that at the start of semesters, they must make their courses available before students can access them. Instructions on how to make your course available are located at this website: https://help.blackboard.com/Learn/Instructor/FAQ/Course_FAQs. We recommend reversing this setting and making courses unavailable when students no longer need access to course materials.
Faculty should find useful the following resources on this website: information on Blackboard development at CUNY; User Guides with information on using new and improved features; and FAQs with answers to the most commonly asked questions.
Students will also find useful information on Blackboard; and answers to their Frequently Asked Questions.
