Offering opportunity for personal growth and job mobility, CUNY SPS provides fully online and on campus courses and programs that meet the needs of adults who are looking for a seamless way to finish or transition into a bachelor’s degree, earn a master’s degree or certificate in a specialized field, advance in the workplace, or change careers. For current CUNY students and Visiting Students, we offer many online General Education courses that may satisfy core requirements.

CUNY SPS offers fully accredited online degree and certificate programs, should a student choose this mode of learning. An online course is as rigorous, informative, and rewarding as one taught in a classroom; and, our use of emerging technology and interactive formats make for a unique experience. Our rich online learning environment offers students the opportunity to interact with instructors and classmates in a number of ways, including video, discussion boards, blog, ePortfolios, and instant messaging.

Additionally, our recent U.S. News & World Report rankings have affirmed our role as leaders in online education.

There’s more than one way to earn credit for a degree at CUNY SPS. We offer a number of Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) opportunities for undergraduates that make it possible to earn credit for previous education and workplace training. For example, we accept credits from other accredited institutions, corporate or military training programs, and college level examination programs, in addition to helping students identify ways to earn credit for learning conducted outside the classroom through the development of a portfolio.

Our academic advisors work to support students from the time of admission through graduation. Our proactive advisement services team ensures that there is consistent support given to students during their education at CUNY SPS. Tutoring, veteran’s services, multiple services for students with disabilities, the Newman Library at Baruch College, and study abroad opportunities are examples of the many ways the Office of Student Services works with our students to accommodate needs, encourage participation, and foster community. The resources offered through Career Services, such as resume building/review, employer networking options, and career-oriented webinars, serve as preparation to help students reach their professional goals.
