Where can I use my card?
Your card works much like other prepaid or debit cards. Use it wherever MasterCard is accepted – online, over the phone, at grocery stores, gas stations, retail stores, restaurants, medical offices, on campus, etc. You may even purchase textbooks.
Is the CUNY card a credit card?
No. It is a prepaid MasterCard card. It can only be used up to the available balance and it does not affect your credit.
Are there fees at ATMs?
There is NO fee when getting cash at any Citibank ATM. There is a $1.50 per
withdrawal fee when used at domestic (USA) ATMs outside the Citibank network. There is a $2.50 fee applied for international (Outside of USA) ATMs. Depending upon the non-Citi ATM machine used, the ATM provider may impose charges for your transaction that are in addition to the ATM Fees listed above.
Are there fees when making purchases?
There are no fees when making purchases wherever MasterCard debit is accepted. However, if you do not have sufficient funds when making a purchase, and your purchase is declined, there is a $1.00 fee per decline.
You will also receive the list of card fees with your card carrier.

|Monthly/Annual fees: If applicable, monthly or annual fees will be posted to the account on the first day of the month.|
|1 Account Maintenance Fee: Subject to applicable law, a monthly maintenance fee will be applied to all accounts, provided that the fee for months 1-12 will not be collected until the twelve month anniversary date. Fees thereafter will be collected monthly. Fees will be postponed if either of the following criteria [are/is] met: 1) There have been funds added to your account in last three months; 2) There have been purchases made with your account in last three months. The charge will be recurring each month unless the account is active as stated in (1) or (2) above or the balance of the account is $ 0.00.|
Can I use this card to pay tuition fees?
As with all debit or credit cards, a convenience fee of 2.65% applies when the card is used to pay tuition and fees. Students can continue to pay tuition fees via EFT and ACH at no additional charge.

Do Not Discard Your Current Scholar Support Card!
I was previously enrolled in the CUNY Scholar Support Card with Citibank to receive my funds. What will happen to my enrollment?
You will continue to receive your funds through Citibank until December 31, 2015. You have the option to enroll in Direct Deposit on CUNYfirst Self-Service or if you do not take an action, you will receive your future funds via a paper check. In addition, you will also have the option to sign up for the new CUNY Scholar Card, enabled by Money Network*. Further information about the new Scholar Card will be made available soon.
What if I have a balance on my current CUNY Scholar Support Card after December 31, 2015?
You can continue to use your CUNY Scholar Support Card until all of your funds are spent or until the card expires. We strongly advise you to access all funds from the card prior to the expiration date printed on your card. To check the balance on your CUNY Scholar Support Card go to www.prepaid.citi.com/cuny or call Citi Prepaid Customer Service at 1-866-326-8689.
Can I continue to use my current CUNY Scholar Support Card after December 31, 2015?
Yes. You can continue to use your CUNY Scholar Support Card until there are no funds remaining on the card or until your card expires. Starting January 1, 2016, no new funds will be loaded to your CUNY Scholar Support Card.
Will I still have access to my account information on Citi Prepaid Online after December 31, 2015?
Yes. You will continue to have access to your account balance and transaction history along with the ability to update your account profile (address, telephone number, email address).
If my card expires after December 31, 2015 and there are still funds on the card, what will happen to my funds?
Contact Citi Prepaid Customer Service at 1-866-326-8689 to request the remainder of your funds and they will be provided to you via a check. Make sure your mailing address information is correct within the Citi Prepaid website.
Will Citibank provide services after December 31, 2015, other than a replacement of my funds after my card has expired?
Yes. Citi Prepaid Customer Service will continue to service all cardholders with inquiries regarding your account.
What will happen if I lose my card after December 31, 2015 and there are still funds on the card?
Contact Citi Prepaid Customer Service at 1-866-326-8689 and they will coordinate the sending of a check to your address with the remaining funds. You will not be able to receive a new card.
How can I close/un-enroll from my CUNY Scholar Support Card?
All students will automatically be un-enrolled from the program. Your CUNY Scholar Support Card will continue to be active while there are still funds on the card and it has not expired. No further action is needed. Remember to access all of your funds prior to the expiration date printed on your card.
What options are available for me to receive my future financial aid or work-study funds after December 31, 2015?

What is the New CUNY Scholar Card?
The new CUNY Scholar Card is a Money Network enabled MasterCard, similar to your current prepaid CUNY Scholar Support Card. It can be used everywhere MasterCard is accepted. Further information will be provided soon.
When can I enroll in the new CUNY Scholar Card?
Enrollment in the new CUNY Scholar Card will begin in January of 2016. Feel free to sign up for Direct Deposit, using your own account information, on CUNYfirst Self-Service. If you do not have a bank account, your funds will be provided you via a check.
