Log into CUNYfirst Self Service < Campus Finances < View 1098-T, and select Grant Consent. By consenting to receive an electronic Form 1098-T, you will not receive a paper form through the mail. Students who do not select the electronic option will receive a paper Form 1098-T sent to the mailing address listed on CUNYfirst Self Service.
To promote paperless incentives, CUNY offers all students an electronic Form 1098-T. By consenting to receive an electronic form you will be able to view, print, save, and email the form when the form is produced. Form 1098-T Statements are available on or before January 31st for the prior tax year. A notification is sent to each student when the form is made available.
The agreement that you will select is:
You have until January 11th to provide your consent. You will automatically receive a Form 1098-T in the mail if you choose not to enroll.
No, you do not have to Grant Consent every year. Your selection for an electronic Form 1098-T is valid for all future tax years.
Yes. Regardless of how you receive your Form 1098-T, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires a complete mailing address on the tax form. CUNY cannot produce an electronic or paper Form 1098-T if there is missing or incomplete address information, such as a street, state or zip code.
You cannot withdraw this consent online. To receive your Form 1098-T at your mailing address, you must Revoke Consent of electronic Form 1098-T’s. Visit your college 1098-T Representative for information about revoking consent.
Your Form 1098-T may be accessed, downloaded, and printed on any hardware device that can open read and print Adobe PDF documents. For your convenience, the college provides students with computers on campus with the necessary hardware and software. Ensure that you have the latest update of Adobe.
