The Money Network CUNY Scholar Card is Coming to An End.

Please be aware that as of December 31, 2018, CUNY will no longer load funds onto your CUNY Scholar Card.  We strongly recommend that you enroll in Direct Deposit as the mechanism to receive your financial aid payments.  Direct Deposit will provide you with the same safety and flexibility that you received through your Scholar Card.

You will continue to receive your funds through Money Network until December 31, 2018. CUNY strongly recommends that students sign up for direct deposit to their personal bank account prior to December 31, 2018. Sign up for direct deposit on your CUNYfirst Self-Service account.

After December 31, 2018, if you do not enroll in direct deposit, your default payment method will be a paper check.

You can continue to use your CUNY Scholar Card until all of your funds are spent, prior to the card’s expiration date, or until February 28, 2019. After this date, the cards will be closed and students will be issued a check for any remaining balance from Money Network. Checks will only be mailed to the students with a card balance that exceeds $1.00. You may contact Customer Service at 1-800-822-4283 to request a check for remaining funds on the card if you would like to be issued a check with your remaining balance, prior to February 28, 2019. Make sure your mailing address information is correct within the Money Network CUNY Scholar Card website. To check the balance on your CUNY Scholar Card go to Manage My Account or call Money Network Customer Service.

Yes. You can continue to use your CUNY Scholar Card until there are no funds remaining on the card, prior to the card’s expiration date, or until February 28, 2019. Starting January 1, 2019, no new funds will be loaded to your CUNY Scholar Card.

Yes. You will continue to have access to your account balance and transaction history along with the ability to update your account profile (address, telephone number, email address) until February 28, 2019.

Yes. Money Network Customer Service will continue to service all cardholders with inquiries regarding your account.

Contact Money Network Customer Service at 1-800-822-4283 and they will coordinate sending a check to your address with the remaining funds. You will not be able to receive a new card.

Students can sign onto their CUNYfirst account and un-enroll from the Scholar Card program by navigating to: HR/Campus Solutions > Main Menu > Self Service > Campus Finances > Manage my Direct Deposit > Click “Unenroll from Direct Deposit”

All remaining students who are still enrolled as of January 1, 2019 will automatically be un-enrolled from the program. Your CUNY Scholar Card will continue to be active while there are still funds on the card, if it has not expired, or until February 28, 2019.
