CUNY OneSearch

To access databases from off-campus, you must be a currently enrolled student, faculty member, or staff member with an active I.D. in the CUNY library system. Check with the circulation desk of your library to make sure your I.D. is active.

When prompted, enter — without spaces, dashes, or other characters — your 13- or 14-digit library I.D. (barcode) number, found on the front or back of your I.D. card.

Individual colleges may also employ their own systems of off-campus authentication that require a login that is not your barcode. In that case, please visit your library’s website directly.

Library Barcodes for CUNY Central Employees

CUNY Central employees not already affiliated with an individual college must make a special request to obtain a library barcode that can be used with CUNY-wide e-resources. It is also used to borrow books from the CUNY libraries.

Fill out the CUNY Central employee barcode request form. Please allow 2 to 7 business days for the Office of Library Services to process your request and send the library card(s) via interoffice mail. If we have any questions, we will reach out to you directly.
