Our mission is to expand the scope of the research endeavor at CUNY by broadening participation of undergraduate students. The traditional ‘apprentice’ model encourages students to work in a laboratory setting or one-on-one with a professor. Our goal is to take faculty research directly to students in the classroom by creating a research-integrated curriculum.
To stimulate creative ways to integrate research into the curriculum, CUNY held a one day-workshop at John Jay College on Friday March 11, 2016. The workshop featured platform presentations and breakout sessions to analyze how CUNY’s colleges have integrated research into their curriculums across disciplines. Workshop discussions reviewed methods for assessing the impact of this endeavor on student success. In addition, the Research in the Classroom grant program was announced.
